Richard Rose said the principal of retreating from untruth was a central key to his system. That is, his “system” was not a path to be learned, memorized or followed, but a set of factors that can be applied.
Richard Rose also referred to this a retreat from error, backing away from untruth, backing into truth and so forth.
An associated concept is Reversing the Vector.
If we say we’re looking for truth, that means that we don’t know where truth is, so it’s impossible to head in a certain direction to find it.
More certain would be to identify things that are untruthful and eliminate, back away, or retreat from those.
Truth is then defined as a condition where all “untruth” has been removed.
